Chris was a four-time minor league All Star, 2003 Southern League batting champion, and an all-time home run leader for the New Orleans Zephyrs AAA affiliate. In 1997, he was drafted in the 3rd round out of high school by the Florida Marlins, was an All-American Athlete, MVP of Nevada in baseball, and held the national and state home run record (29HRS). Other accomplishments include: European Cup Championship, 2 Minor League Championships, and World Baseball Classic Team Philippines.

Chris Aguila
Owner

Chris played for five MLB organizations (Miami, Pittsburgh, NY Mets, Toronto, and Philadelphia.) Over the span of his career, Chris played professionally in leagues of six different countries (US, Japan, Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico, Italy, Australia). Chris reached the Major Leagues in 2004 with the Florida Marlins, also spending the 2005-2006 season with them. He played in the Majors Leagues with the New York Mets in 2008.

Chris Gimenez
Private Instructor & Ambassador

Chris played at the University of Nevada before being drafted his junior year by the Cleveland Indians. He worked his way up through the minors before making his MLB debut in 2009. He continued his big league career playing for 6 different organizations (Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins and the Chicago Cubs). Chris played multiple positions during his career including catcher, first and third base, and all three outfield positions. His versatility helped him to have a 10-year major league career. He went to the playoffs 6 times and the World Series once. He’s caught multiple Cy Young pitchers including Felix Hernandez (2011) and David Price (2012). He’s also the current record holder for innings pitched by a position player.

After playing, Chris began his coaching career with the LA Dodgers where he worked as the game planning coordinator. He was able to work on the field directly with the pitchers and catchers and won the 2020 World Series. Chris has now decided to come home and pour back into the community where his career started.

Mike McCarthey
Private Instructor & Ambassador

Mike began his coaching career in 2018 with the Minnesota Twins, serving as the Bullpen Coach for two seasons before moving to Pitching Coach in 2020. A 14th Round pick in 2011, Mike played 7 years in the Minor Leagues with the Boston Red Sox reaching as high as AAA Pawtucket. Mike won a National Championship with the Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball League in 2015. While at CSU-Bakersfield he was a 2011 All-American Honorable mention, tied for the nation’s lead in innings pitched with Trevor Bauer (127.2) and finishing the year in the top 10 for both ERA (1.62) and strikeouts (116). During his time at CSU-Bakersfield, Mike was a Pre-Med and Biology student while serving as President for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and member of the Student Athlete Mentor Group. He completed his MBA in 2017 and currently working on his M.S. in Athlete Development. Currently he serves as the Field Coordinator for the non-profit Baseball Miracles (www.baseballmiracles.org) and has coached baseball on five continents.

When not coaching at NNBC or with the Twins you’ll find Mike enjoying time with his family, volunteering in the community or exploring the mountains that surround Lake Tahoe.

Mike’s area of expertise are in Pitching, velocity development, biomechanics, whole body movement screenings and kinematics. He is On Base U and Rapsodo Certified.

Cole Kryzmarsick

A graduate of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. Cole played four years at the University of Nevada, Reno where he was an outfielder and won two Mountain West Championships. Cole graduated from UNR with a business degree.

Kelly Cervantez

A graduate of American High School in Fremont, California. Kelly played two years of junior college baseball and one year with the San Jose Braves. He was the varsity baseball coach at American High School for three years. He also coached for the Nevada Gunslingers for four years.

Pete Daley

Graduated from Marysville High School and was an all-conference player at Yuba Junior College. Pete set the most caught stealing in a season record at St. Gregory’s University in Oklahoma.

Drew Clark

A graduate of McQueen High School where he was an All-State Outfielder in 2017. He attended Iowa Western Junior College and was a two-time JUCO World Series participant. Drew also attended Feather River Junior College and is Rapsodo certified.

Jake Phillips

McQueen High School 2017 graduate. Jake attended Lassen College for 2 years.

Greg Lexa

Greg Lexa graduated from Sparks High School in 2001 where he played both baseball and football. Throughout his high school baseball career he played multiple positions including catcher, 1B and outfield.

He was 3 time All-Region LB and TE in football and was honorable mention All State as a junior and senior. He played football in college at Yuba College.

Coach Lexa has been coaching high school baseball and football for almost 20 years, including multiple duties from varsity baseball head coach to assistant coach in both baseball and football. He started at Valley High School in Las Vegas and continues to the present coaching football at McQueen High School.

Christian Chamberlain

Reno High School graduate and 2017 MVP as well as an All-American. He attended Oregon State from 2017-2020. Christian competed in the College World Series Championship and holds the College World Series strike out record. In 2020, he was a 4th round pick in the MLB draft for the Kansas City Royals.

Nate Nolan

Damonte Ranch High School graduate where he was named Division 1 North Defensive Player of the Year as a senior and was named a 2013 All-North Division 1 selection at catcher by the Reno Gazette Journal. Nate attended St. Mary’s where he was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team and appeared and started in 58 games for the Gaels. Nate is currently a catcher with the Chicago White Sox.

Scott Rawlins

A graduate and baseball hall of famer of Reed High School where he was a 3-time all-league selection and MVP of Northern Nevada as a Junior. Scott is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno where he was the starting catcher in 89, 90, 91). He led the team in home runs and batting average (7HR/BA 373) in 1990. Scott's youth baseball coaching career spans 20 years and includes little league, all-star and travel ball teams as well as Babe Ruth and high school.

Steve O'Brien

Steve O’Brien graduated Douglas High School in 1998 where he was an all-conference infielder. As a Senior he led the team in batting average and helped lead Douglas to the State Championship tournament. In 1999-2000 he played baseball at Delta Junior College in Stockton, California before earning a scholarship to play baseball at Lubbock Christian University. In 2002, he transferred to Oklahoma Panhandle State University on a baseball scholarship and finished his bachelor’s degree in Business in 2003.
